About
Hello, my name is Melissa Cachopo, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. My approach to therapy is helping you identify who you are by learning to put yourself first. This is a key proponent to my therapeutic process, as it allows you to learn and grow through your life. I take on an approach that includes care and empathy, along with direct support, to help you reach your identified goals. My approach My therapeutic approach allows for individuals to understand the therapy process. I utilize an integrative method to therapy. I enjoy utilizing different modalities to engage and support clients needs. Specifically I am passionate about Person-Centered Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, while taking on an empathetic, emotional and compassion focused approach. My focus I like to work with a diverse population. It is important to follow your desired lead in therapy while supporting your goals. Struggles that I work closely with are; depression, anxiety, substance use, understanding and exploring one's identity, along with helping you accept yourself for who you are, while working towards specific goals. My communication style I believe communication is the main component to therapy. Communication allows for understanding and awareness into the therapeutic process. I believe that an effective and efficient therapist is able to communicate with clients - in order to get the client's needs met. My journey to therapy Becoming a therapist has been a fulfilling and amazing experience. I became a therapist to assist people who are struggling, find hope, and allow for the ability to create a life worth living. My journey started in 2014 when I began working in the mental health field. From there, I attended graduate school and began my career as a therapist. I continue to gain insight and passion for the therapeutic process, and help clients find fulfillment in their lives.
