My name is Melissa Rookman, I am Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York State. I have been a social worker since 2010 where I earned my Masters in Social Work at Syracuse University. I earned my Licensed Master of Social Worker (LMSW) shortly after graduation and then my Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in 2018.

I have a background in working with young adults and adults in a variety of areas. Specifically much of my career has been working on stress/anxiety, depression, and coping skills. I have worked on crisis and counseling hotlines in the past as well as provided brief counseling over the phone. I work from a strengths based solution-focused point of view. I want to help you feel better starting day one, even if it's only a tiny bit better, that's the first step.

I tend to be a very down to earth counselor who will walk with you through this journey side by side. I want to be there to be a sounding board, a guide, and someone you feel you can reach out to for extra support.

I generally will check and respond to messages at least once a day and I am available to schedule live sessions with as well.

Please note the majority of my live session occur in the late evening/night hours. This is great for night owls and anyone who may work non traditional hours, but is not for everyone. I often do not have weekday daytime sessions.
