Hello and welcome to Find A Therapist! I am so glad you're here. Most likely, you're here because you need help with something in your life you've been having trouble with. Whether big or small, I am hopeful that I can assist you. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who graduated from Loyola University of Chicago with a concentration in Mental Health and children and their families. I have over 10 years of experience working with all types of people such as: young children with behavioral issues, teenagers with sexually problematic behaviors, adults with mental health issues (specifically anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorders), those with more intense mental health issues (schizophrenia, dementia), and those who are incarcerated. As a therapist, I like to start where my client's are and go where they want to go. Life is a journey and therapy should be the same way.

I don't force people to talk about issues they don't want to discuss. I don't think that ever helped anyone (it certainly never helped me). My work as a therapist is guided by humanistic, cognitive-behavioral (our thoughts effect our emotions and behaviors), attachment (our early relationships affect our current relationships), and spiritual interventions. This means that I believe people can heal and grow if they have assistance that is genuine, empathetic, and accepting. Talking about our past and how it may be affecting us today, combined with challenging our past thinking patterns and behaviors, and accepting ourselves exactly as we are, helps us move forward without bringing those negative things with us that don't serve our well-being. Hopefully through this type of process, you're able to heal and can move forward successfully in a more productive life.

I do believe in the interactive process. Meaning sometimes I may give you tasks to complete outside of the session so that you can begin to utilize the skills you've learned in real time (not graded or anything, just simple tasks to do on your own :).

Everyone is different and deserves a specific plan of action to help them. It takes courage to seek a better life and to take the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.
