Hi! I am a Clinical Social Worker licensed in MA. I got my master's degree from Simmons in 1996 and from there I've worked in a variety of settings including community mental health agencies, public schools, group homes, therapeutic horseback riding programs, and private practice. I focus on adults who need support around life stresses, changes or loss (which describes just about all of us these days!). Many of my clients present with feelings of depression, anxiety, shame, or low self-worth. So many struggle with that inner critic that keep them feeling bad about themselves, or even immobilized.
I also very much enjoy my work with young adult clients who are managing the transition to college or the workforce. No question it is a really challenging time for this generation. There is so much temptation to compare with what everyone is doing, and overal social/academic and financial pressure. A lot of support is needed for our young adults.
I vary my approach in therapy depending on the needs of the client but always strive to offer a warm, inviting space to work out life's challenges. I am a good listener and will help you learn more about the root causes of your feelings, and also to generate useful strategies to move forward with your goals.
