About

I work as a clinical mental health counselor licensed in the state of Utah. I am certified in positive psychology through the University of Utah. I have over 12 years of experience working as a therapist and educator. I focus on treating fear and how it feeds anxiety. Fear and anxiety are treatable!

I selected a career in mental health counseling because behavior fascinates me, and solutions to emotional challenges often puzzle and intrigue me. I am curious about what motivates individuals to keep trying, learning, and growing even in the face of adversity.

I do not have answers for solving someone else’s problems but I do have a passion for collaborating, exchanging ideas, brainstorming solutions, sharing research-based material, listening, and staying curious about perspective and possibility.

I believe in the importance of psychoeducation when it comes to mental health and my goal is to share beneficial information with as many people as I can. Even a simple understanding of behavior, problem solving, decision making, self-regulation, coping skills, the central nervous system, basic brain science, and focusing on what you can do versus what you can’t has the potential of making a big difference.

I have a passion for sharing information on wise tech time, good digital citizenship, and having an awareness of the neuroscience and techniques used in the digital world.
I have enjoyed speaking at the Association for Youth City Council held at Utah State, Retreat for Girls, in the high school and elementary setting, to various youth groups, the Suzuki Teachers Association, and on KSL Studio 5 on this important and growing topic.

Life is not a simple equation with only one answer but multiple options. We learn as we go and as we know better, we can choose to do better. We never stop growing or learning and with effort we can increase our understanding and knowledge of how to live today a little better than yesterday.

My commitment is to give each client my very best when we meet. My goal is to provide therapy that contributes to a client growing right out of needing my help!
