About
I have an eclectic approach to therapy, working with my clients within the time and space that they are in while providing guidance and empathetic listening. I enjoy working with individuals and couples who need to reduce their angst and increase their enjoyment of life, themselves, and one another. My approach I work with clients exactly where they are at, understanding trauma and past therapy provides a context for the individual's comfort. In the first session in addition to getting to know preferences and goals I also like to ensure coping mechanisms are in place to get to our next session. My focus I work with clients one-on-one or as a couple. My specialty is couples, however, I enjoy doing individual self-development work as well as behavior and crisis management. Working to ensure individuals fully maximize their individual potential. I believe communication is the base for a full, intimate, and engaging relationship. My communication style I enjoy creating a safe nurturing environment free from distractions in a safe place to be yourself. No topic is off bounds, meeting people where they are and helping them to get where they need to be. My journey to mental healthcare I have a strong family history of mental illness and addiction, I am just trying to help make the world a better, freer, happier place. Increasing couple's intimacy through communication is my primary focus in couples' work. My goals for you I allow the clients to set their own goals as well as make changes to those goals while keeping a reminder of those they have set. I don't think that therapy is linear therefore works where we need to work instead of a firm focus. My first session with you In the first session, I do a little history but also want to get to the root of what is going on to allow for learning and practicing coping.
