About

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has 5+ years of experience working with individuals and groups to improve their well-being through client-focused and evidence-based therapy modalities. I like to take a holistic approach using systems theory to understand internal and external factors influencing one’s behavior mixed with behavioral methods (e.g., cognitive behavioral therapy) to support clients on their wellness journey.

I received my bachelor’s degree from Boston University in Psychology in 2011 and my master’s degree in Social Work from Columbia University in 2013. While in New York, I worked within the public school system, the child welfare system, and the criminal justice system. Since then, I managed a National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) clinical trial for 4 years focused on the prevention of depression and anxiety for adolescents and young adults through utilizing online-educational coping mechanisms and resiliency tools. This experience taught me valuable skills while working with clients as depression and anxiety can be multifaceted and complex.

I also have an additional research degree that focused on the way fashion, beauty, and the media impact our self-esteem as dictated by external social constructs. Some examples are aging in the media, the thin-ideal, and inclusivity. When applicable, I like to use this research in my practice to help individuals challenge and reframe internalized social constructs that are negatively impacting their lives.

I enjoy working with all populations, but I have extensive experience working with young adults experiencing depressive symptoms, anxiety, and self-esteem issues.
