About
My name is Megan Glotz and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (122007). I firmly believe in the therapeutic alliance so my first goal of therapy is to create an open space where we build trust and get to know each other so that you can be your most authentic self. My approach I use a mix of different approaches when it comes to therapy depending on what the client needs. The main theoretical approaches that I use are CBT, client centered, Gottman method, and elements of positive psychology. My focus I typically work with older teens, adults, and couples. Usually the clients I work with are going through a difficult time in their life due to a life transition such as grief, a move, job/school change, or relationship issue. They often feel stuck and need support in navigating their new situation. This is usually compounded by other individual factors that they are also struggling with such as anxiety, depression, and issues with self-esteem. My communication style When working with me, it should feel like talking to a friend. I promote a friendly, non-judgmental, respectful environment. My journey to mental healthcare I have always wanted to be a therapist. There were some mental health issues in my extended family and when I was younger that promoted a curiosity about psychology and the mental health field. I know the impact that a positive relationship with a therapist can have on someone and I strive to give that to all of my clients. I am extremally fulfilled by helping others and knowing that I improved their quality of life by even a little bit. We all need help in this world, and I truly believe we are better off when we work together to navigate this crazy life! My goals for you I work with my clients to come up with attainable goals. The goals might change throughout our time together, but we will always revisit them. Ideally I like to give my clients something to work on in between our sessions to make sure progress is being made.
