I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with extensive experience in working with individuals who struggle with trauma, addiction, attachment issues, PTSD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder. I also specialize in working with LGBTQ population, women issues, role overload, low self esteem and self acceptance issues. I am EMDR trained (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help individuals alleviate symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, drug and alcohol cravings, chronic pain, trauma, unresolved grief and any other symptom that interrupts quality of life. I am also a certified masters addiction professional (MCAP) and specialize in treating substance use disorders.

I have significant experience in grief counseling and assist clients in understanding the stages of grief and identifying what acceptance means to them and how to find it in their lives.

I am passionate about helping people to identify issues that are important to them and being the person in their life who they can turn to without fear of judgment. I utilize a strengths perspective and person-in-environment perspective for all of my clients, as I feel that every human being has strengths and are all impacted by the systems and environment they interact with on a daily basis. I believe in Moreno’s theory that there is no such thing as resistance- it is just lack of warm up on the clinicians part. Therefore, I have my clients engage in warm up activities specific to their needs.

I strongly believe in attachment theory by Bowlby and incorporate his work in many of my therapy sessions. I utilize Erikson’s Developmental Stages as well and assist clients in identifying which stage they may have had a difficult time in and how that impacts their life today.
