My name is Megan Meibeyer and I am 37 years old. I live and work in Michigan as a Licensed Professional Counselor. I am also board certified in Michigan. I have experience working with all ages in individual, family, and group settings. My areas of expertise are depression, anxiety, trauma, grief/loss, and career counseling. I have experience working with clients with Anxiety, ADHD, ADD, Asperger's syndrome, Avoidant Personality Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Illness Anxiety Disorder, PTSD, and Schizophrenia. My priorities in treatment are to establish a therapeutic relationship with the client/s and help them develop and accomplish objectives based on their own treatment goals. In therapy, I am compassionate, nonjudgmental, encouraging, and creative. My goal is for clients to leave their initial appointment feeling heard, understood, and hopeful for the future.

I check in regularly with clients to make sure we are on track with their goals. I appreciate feedback and encourage clients to openly communicate which techniques and approaches are helping or not helping. My counseling style is strength-based, cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, psychodynamic, and integrative depending on the client. I enjoy incorporating art therapy into treatment when appropriate. We will start with a thorough assessment of your history and needs and then develop an appropriate treatment plan together. We will learn coping and relaxation skills such as mindfulness and deep breathing to help you face a variety of situations with confidence and peace.
