About
Hello. My name is Matt and I am a licensed psychologist with 14 years experience. My therapy style is empathic and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with compassion, sensitivity, and respect. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, client centered, and emotion focused therapies. I will tailor our therapy to meet your unique and specific needs. I am honored to be a part of your journey that comes through the therapeutic process of discovery and growth. I have worked with a wide range of presenting concerns including anxiety, depression, eating concerns, trauma, career concerns, couples counseling, grief/loss, life transitions, parenting/family concerns, biofeedback and sport psychology. I am also certified in biofeedback by the BCIA. I have primarily worked at 5 different university college counseling centers; and have also been in private practice for about 5 years.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and another Bachelor of Arts in Family & Human Development in 2001 from the University of Utah. I then received my Master of Arts in Family, Consumer, & Human Development from Utah State University in 2007. Then I completed my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Brigham Young University in 2012. I enjoy spending time with family & friends, sports, music, traveling, and the outdoors. I look forward to working with you.
