Hi there, I'm Maryam! Greetings, I'm Maryam! I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with over 10 years of experience in individual therapy and community mental health. Through these experiences, I have worked with many populations from various walks of life including adolescents, adults, and older adults. My approach I am a solution-focused and client-centered therapist who views the counseling process as an alliance between client and therapist and consider the clients as the experts of their lives. I incorporate evidence-based treatments including CBT and Attachment Focused therapies and create a safe setting where my clients can heal, learn, grow, and thrive. I am fully embracing a holistic approach to mental health and understand that all aspects of an individual's life impact their well-being including their physical health, support systems (family, friends, etc.), work or school environment, and faith/spirituality. My focus I have extensive training and experience treating adults and adolescents suffering from depression, anxiety, trauma, OCD, Personality Disorders, Bipolar, ADHD, eating disorders, substance abuse, suicidal ideation, and other acute problems. I have also helped people struggling with anger and stress management, physical, sexual, emotional abuse, emerging adulthood, LGBTQ+ issues, and life transitions. My communication style My clients find me to be compassionate yet direct and solution-focused. Communication is always a two-way street. I will listen actively to your concerns, so you feel safe to talk to me, knowing that I'll respect your beliefs and wishes. My goals for you I believe that therapy is only effective if you take charge and understand your part. Setting goals for therapy is accepting responsibility for your life and taking active steps to make a change. Goals vary from person to person but the starting point is outlining what is to be achieved from the counseling sessions.
