My name is Mary Sue Fidale. I have a very interesting background where I have combined my nursing and counseling to assist oncology (cancer patients). I have a 34 plus career in this very special world of oncology. I had been a clinical nurse for 20 years on a medical/surgical cancer unit. When I completed my LCPC, I was a breast health specialist navigator and supported those who had a breast cancer diagnosis. I have been able to help patient's and families at any
part of a cancer diagnosis from newly diagnosed, reoccurred, survivorship. I have worked with patients who had a terminal diagnosis. Cancer effects so many emotions as being overwhelmed, fear and worry, stress and anxiety, hope, anger, sadness, depression, gratitude, loneliness, guilt. Through my career I have helped patients through all of these emotions. I feel I have been given a very special
gift to support and care for those affected by a cancer diagnosis. I always believe that with Cancer There Is Hope. I have been honored to be part of patients at all aspects of their cancer journey. This is a poem that is very special to me. WHAT CANCER CANNOT DO
CANCER IS SO LIMITED, IT CANNOT CRIPPLE LOVE, IT CANNOT CORRODE FAITH, IT CANNOT DESTROY PEACE, IT CANNOT KILL FRIENDSHIPS, IT CANNOT SUPPRESS MEMORIES, IT CANNOT SILENCE COURAGE, IT CANNOT INVADE THE SOUL, IT CANNOT
STEAL ETERNAL LIFE , IT CANNOT CONQUER THE SPIRIT.
