Welcome to my practice! I have been in the field of treating adults with mental health and substance use disorders for 28 years. I ​began my career in community mental health and was licensed in 1997 as a Professional Counselor. I am also licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist and a Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner. I have an Bachelor's degree in psychology from James Madison University and a Master's degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in rehabilitation counseling with a specialty in substance use disorder treatment. I have spent much of my career working with clients who are struggling with mood disorders, adult ADHD, addictions, family of origins issues, couples/marital counseling, stress management, career coaching, and emerging adult issues. My therapeutic approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, Person Center Approaches, Trauma Informed Counseling, Motivational Interviewing, Assertiveness Training, and recovery coaching.
