About
Finding hope and restoration in places of pain can feel impossible. Yet seeking counseling can be an important step towards healing. I believe that struggling individuals and couples can turn their relationships and lives around – you absolutely can move from suffering to thriving.
My name is Mary Lee Evans. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in both South Carolina and North Carolina with over 15 years of experience working in private practice and an additional 5 years of working in the field of social work. I have worked with clients from all walks of life with a wide range of concerns. Some of my areas of focus include depression, anxiety, relational conflict and spiritual struggles. I have significant counseling experience across an array of client issues, including trauma, grief, childhood abuse, and severe mental health concerns.
My style is one that is welcoming and warm. It takes great courage to begin the process of therapy, and I hope to offer you respect and compassion with every step. My approach is focused on the real possibilities of growth and change using the primary framework found in Restoration Therapy. This model uses a combination of theories such as cognitive-behavioral, attachment, experiential, and mindfulness. I welcome the opportunity to discuss this framework and any questions you might have about the therapy process with me.
My educational credentials include:
Licensed by the State of South Carolina (LMFT7013)
Licensed by the State of North Carolina (LMFT 1218)
Certified Restoration Therapist
Fuller Theological Seminary School of Psychology Master in Marriage and Family Therapy
Davidson College Bachelor of Arts
You are invited to contact me to learn more; I do realize that considering to see a counselor may be a new experience. You may have questions about the counseling process and I am glad to talk with you about it.
