About
Hi there, I'm Mary! As a therapist, I work with you to help you identify your strengths and empower you to make positive changes in your life. I recognize that making the decision to seek help can be difficult, I use an approach that is compassionate, direct, and non-judgmental to help create an environment where you feel supported, validated and safe. In 2007, I began my journey working in the counseling filed by helping survivors of domestic violence. I soon discovered my passion is helping Individuals, families and couples find ways to rebuild their lives by overcoming repeated cycles of violence that have been extended from childhood trauma and repeated behavior. I continued my calling in domestic violence and taught classes of preventing violence through a probational program. To further my experience, I spent time working in a residential treatment program specializing in drug and alcohol this open the discovery to see the relation between addiction, child trauma, violence and a diverse mental health struggle. It was at this time while working with adults of addiction and dual diagnoses that I was able to find ways of changing their lives with new purpose and motivation to pursue positive changes. I use a variety therapeutic modalities that consist of eclectic, cognitive behavior therapy, strategic therapy, gestalt therapy, person center, solution focus, emotional focus therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and narrative base therapy. Currently I focus my time in a community non-profit organization helping adult Individuals with a diverse population of mental health struggles that have been infused with relationship struggles, communication challenges, trauma, anxiety, depression, and mental health disorders that have impaired their ability to live life to their full potential.
