Hey There,
My name is Mary Geer, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Certificate in Military Social Work and EMDR Practitioner. I have been working in the field as a psychotherapist for 9 years, but I have been working within mental health for 11 years now total. I have worked with clients ranging from 8-70, of all different races, cultures, gender, and sexuality. With whom are expressing a wide range of concerns including, but not limited to: depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, parenting problems, communication issues, career challenges, low self-esteem, self-harm behaviors, and suicidal thoughts.

My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. This doesn't mean that I wont be straight, honest and direct with holding you accountable. My therapeutic skill sets are in DBT, CPT, CBT, EMDR, psychodynamic counseling, and so much more. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life, it takes even more strength to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support you, advocate for/with you and empower you. It's ok, to not be ok, but things don't have to stay that way forever.

I know you were eager to get my response and get started. So I wanted to make sure to clarify that I check messages here daily during the week and will respond to you whenever I can, at least twice a day. I have set aside particular times that I can dedicate to clients through Find A Therapist, and I'm willing to work with you on scheduling conflicts if need. I do, however, have another full time job as an LCSW. Plus being a mother to a 12 year old and almost 4 year old, as well as a wife. I love all of my jobs, and take pride in doing each role to the best of my ability. So I'll work hard for you, if you work hard for me, and together great things can be accomplished. The days/times you see are when I am available for a session, so feel free to select any slot there that works for you. You can schedule a live session (text chat, phone call, video session) with me using the Scheduler. If you want a longer session than 30 minutes or find that there is scheduling difficulties, please do let me know directly.
