I am licensed in Virginia with 26 years of professional work experience . I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, trauma and abuse, depression, & coping with life choices, developmental, learning challenges, emotional and behavioral issues that can be a part of neuro-developmental problems. I practice from a developmental perspective, matching interventions to a person’s understanding and learning style. It is my belief that counseling is a process and not a product. It is a discovery of self-strengths and weaknesses; developing a comfortable and authentic approach to life that is of your choosing. A counselor should not drag you forward toward goals, or push you along, but should walk beside you as you discover the right answers for yourself. Counseling is exploring the possibilities of who you are and who you will become. Life is about being comfortable in your own skin. From the Desiderata: “be gentle with yourself. no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. Strive to be happy.” I am here to support you in this process
