About

I have worked as a Licensed Professional Clinic Counselor, in the state of Ohio for about 11 years. I am currently in a private practice providing both group and individual services and I have experience working with adults, adolescents, and young children. I started out my career working with families and the juvenile court system as a Multi-systemic Therapist in order to help people to be more successful in all aspects of their lives. Tackling difficult topics such as anxiety, stress management, relationship issues, self-esteem/self-care , addictions and coping with them, sexual problems and depression are areas I have worked with clients in helping them to overcome these hurdles.
I have provided services in different environments such as hospitals, in the community for an agency and at a private practice. My eclectic experience has helped me to gain knowledge and be a more effective counselor for my clients. When I started out as a young therapist, I began to understand and respect that multiple aspects of my clients' lives need to be considered in order to effectively provide treatment. I really began to embrace the multisystemic approach which addressed a person's environment, family background, behaviors, thoughts and spirituality and the connection between all of them. I love the idea of developing and nurturing supports systems to help guide the person in dealing with their struggles. I also try to incorporate a family systems approach, cognitive-behavioral, reality therapy, and mindfulness. It really depends on meeting the client where they are at and to provide them with an empathetic experience.
Finally, I embrace solution-focused therapy and try to empower my clients to be motivated to follow through utilize strengths to maintain change. Setting goals, providing a treatment plan specific to the individual's needs and passing on tools that can be useful to overcome whatever the struggle are all apart of my approach. I have a lot of energy, love working with people and believe whole heartedly in the process of change and respect how difficult that can be. Making the decision to reach out is courageous and I would like to begin that journey with you in taking steps to make your life healthier and happier!
