About
Marten Hatch is a clinically licensed social worker with nearly a decade of experience providing individual and couples counseling. As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Marten utilizes trauma informed and client centered approaches as interventions to both psychological and physiological responses to stress and personal growth. As a therapeutic resource, Marten strives to support his clients with developing their understanding of themselves and to develop compassion for how dynamic they are. He sees his role primarily as a partner in intrapersonal learning; acting as a support to identify and process the parts which make a person who they are, and then integrate those parts to build self-worth and a more satisfying life.
Counseling is best done with a positive relationship and unconditional compassion. As a counselor, Marten is a partner who provides support, empathy, and understanding as clients explore, process, and work to find growth and meaning. Marten’s goal is to meet his clients where they are presently in their life and assist them in developing a dynamic and compassionate understanding of themselves. As your partner in intrapersonal learning, Marten will work with you to define clear goals, identify personal strengths, and challenge personal barriers. He firmly believes that clients know themselves best, including parts of themselves they struggle to accept and those parts they strive to deny. As a counselor Marten is here to support your journey. His counseling style provides psychoeducation and understanding about natural and normal responses (both psychological and physiological), intrapersonal communication, and self-regulation (both psychological and physiological). He utilizes a multitude of techniques to develop a person-centered approach including therapeutic approaches from ACT, CBT, DBT, Gestalt, and Cognitive Processing Therapy.
It takes a lot of personal strength to reach out when we need help! Marten looks forward to getting to know you and working with you.
