What should clients know about you? I am a clinical social work therapist with experience in outpatient mental health counseling. I work with adults from different walks of life, and diverse backgrounds. These patients might struggle with various diagnoses such as depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and post-traumatic stress disorder, with grief and chronic pain, and with a history of trauma and oppression. They might face situational stress due to job, family and relationship issues or life-stage transitions. What is your approach to therapy? I practice an eclectic approach to meet my client’s needs. I have knowledge of and experience applying the following methods in my practice: psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral therapies, solution-focused therapy, systems and strength perspectives, motivational interviewing, and psychology of selves. I incorporate dream work, meditation, and breathing and relaxation exercises into my sessions. I have completed Acceptance Commitment therapy, trauma-informed therapy, and group therapy training. What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you? I offer both individual and group sessions. In individual sessions, I value the collaboration between a client and therapist to understand the client’s treatment needs and to find a way to attend to them. In group work, I create a safe and supportive environment to assist clients with learning how to connect with others and to resolve the interpersonal difficulties that often have caused unhappiness in their relationships.
