Hello! Right now you are looking to connect with someone for support or help with something personal in your life. I commend you for taking this step. My name is Mar Johnson, I use they/them pronouns, and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Washington, DC.

Are you feeling stuck or unable to relax? Having difficulty with maintaining boundaries or communicating what you need? Wishing you could feel more affirmed or more comfortable to be yourself? In working with me, you will find that I have a person-centered approach. I will meet you where you are, and we’ll go from there to accomplish your goals. I have over 3 years experience working with adults navigating substance use, anxiety, depression, grief, questions around identity, and all forms of trauma.

Depending on your needs and interests, I am able to choose from a range of approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, strengths-based therapy, and mindfulness. Together we can work to build your awareness of your thinking and behavioral patterns, and find ways to change them if you so choose.

I aim to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment with space for people to explore what a life worth living looks like, especially for those who feel like an outsider due to gender identity, sexuality, or alternative relationship structure (such as polyamory or ethical non-monogamy).
