My name is Marla Hummel. I graduated with a Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Houston and a Masters in Counseling from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. I use cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, client-centered, and motivational interviewing. I have experience working with individuals struggling with negative self-talk, low self-esteem, depression, mood instability, substance use, irrational thought processes, anxiety, history of trauma, identity development, attachment issues, grief and loss, elder care issues and concerns in dealing with aging parents. I have extensive experience working with the military and their family members and have been a therapist for over 33 years. Included in my experience as a therapist is working with couples and unhealthy relationship dynamics.
