About
Mark believes that individuals are uniquely gifted with a purpose to seek self-actualization and contentment to optimize intrapersonal wellness. He attributes the complexities of humanity to have enabled him to implement or utilize an eclectic approach to counseling. A therapeutic process is a safe place for individuals to learn more about themselves, mental health awareness, and spiritual connection. As noted within the inner-person, counseling requires a commitment to address cognitive and emotional deficits to seek wellness to promote a healthy balanced lifestyle. Mark has worked with children and adolescents with emotional disorders and maladaptive behaviors for over twenty years. He has learned that children must be approached and understood from a developmental perspective as well as interventions implemented through a client-centered approach. In addition, he currently works as a behavior consultant treating individuals with severe problem behaviors in a community-based setting. These mental health challenges have been shown to disrupt daily routines, relationships with others, and their cognitive/emotional functioning. Mark holds a Bachelor of Psychology and Biblical Studies from Lancaster Bible College and a Master of Mental Health Counseling from Capital Bible Seminary and Graduate School. Mark is currently a board-certified Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) that has experience utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for individuals with Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other comorbidities. Mark is a very active father of two children. He enjoys traveling, professional sports, and grilling different foods on the weekend. Additional treatment orientations include: behavior therapy, and sand-tray therapy.
