About

Hello. I am Mark Duarte, MSW, LCSW 8636. A licensed clinical social worker since April 1981. In my broad experience with adult individuals, couples, and groups since January 1975 is fulfilling and wonderful. I believe human experience is rich and awe-inspiring in the present, globally, and in all details of our lives. Mindful living is cultivating discernment and gratitude. I strive to provide honest clear encouragement in response to challenges we encounter daily. I look forward to our conversations and I will encourage a positive outlook to turn perceived obstacles into actual opportunities. My approach I utilize dialectical behavioral therapy techniques. With an existential present focus, and I will relate as clearly as needed to effect encouragement to positive change. My focus I utilize client client-centered approach. Conversations imply exchanging information between responsible adults to achieve positive outcomes in problem-solving. Increasing one's compassion and capacity for happiness are existential goals. My communication style I am available in video conversations with a small number of individuals or couples so I can devote myself to attending to your concerns without loading judgmental bias on our conversations. I practice compassion and encourage compassion. I start where the individual is and subscribe to the golden rule. I strive for clear, authentic communication. My journey to mental healthcare My family is from two unique cultures, Mexican and German. My upbringing was witness to acculturation, joys, traumas, tragedy, and all the stuff in between. I have always been curious about how people act and interact. I am curious about how to solve problems and in my view this is useful. I like being helpful and encouraging. I have seen the most resilient individuals are those who cultivate a positive outlook. My attitude is just about the only thing I control. I practice mindfulness at the center. I am grateful for this present moment.
