Hello, I'm Marjorie. I understand that there are times in your life when you are struggling. Perhaps you are struggling with overwhelming anxiety or depression which is interfering with your day-to-day living and/or work. Perhaps you are experiencing unhappiness in important relationships, or perhaps you find yourself resorting to unhealthy ways of coping such as disordered eating, self-harm activities, or other self-sabotaging behaviors. Perhaps you generally feel "less than," feel you don't fit in, feel conflicted about who you are, or feel debilitated by anxiety in social situations. The "work" of therapy can offer relief from painful symptoms and conflicts while addressing your unique and particular patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are holding you back from a more productive life. My goal is to listen and understand your unique life experiences, how your past may have informed your present and to provide a safe space to explore yourself. The goal is to work together to identify patterns that are not working for you and find ways, personal to you, to overcome them. My therapeutic modalities include Cognitive Behavioral and Psychodynamic approaches, and often include DBT practices such as mindfulness and guided meditation techniques.
