About
I, Maritza Martinez-Chinchilla am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Texas with over 40 years of relevant post-Masters experience. My goal is to help my clients realize success in their personal and professional lives. I have excellent Spanish and English language skills, and extensive cultural diversity and gender identity training. In addition to expertise in trauma resolution, stress management, and anger management. I provide my clients with proven strategies to manage and overcome grief, depression, anxiety, and fear resulting from abuse and loss.
I have worked with diverse populations, ranging from children, adolescents, adults and seniors. I have also provided couples counseling for clients experiencing marital I have ample experience working with at risk populations, including juvenile offenders, adult offenders, and children who have been in placement with Children's Protective Services.
In 2009, I was awarded a contract by the Harris County Commissioners Court to provide individual and group counseling services to juvenile probationers. This allowed me to expand my expertise in attending to diverse family issues and other barriers to the success and happiness of my clients. I have maintained my private practice since 1994.
