Hi there, I'm Maritza Aceves, a dedicated Talk Therapist at Latinx Talk Therapy. Fluent in both Spanish and English, I offer specialized therapy services to diverse communities. My approach to therapy blends Stress Management Therapy with a trauma-sensitive perspective, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for every client. As a Latinx Therapy provider, I understand the unique challenges faced in the Hispanic Mental Health field. My clinical approach is flexible, catering to each client’s experiences, preferences, and needs. I employ a range of techniques including motivational interviewing, mindfulness-based Stress Management Therapy, and creative arts, ensuring a comprehensive Talk Therapy experience. My practice emphasizes cognitive behavioral therapy, a cornerstone of effective Talk Therapy. This method has proven successful in addressing various issues like depression, anxiety, PTSD, and complex trauma. As a Spanish Therapist, I take pride in offering culturally sensitive care, making therapy accessible to our Hispanic and Latinx communities. My journey began on the south side of Chicago, where I grew up in a Mexican-American family. Navigating between Spanish and English (and Spanglish!), I developed a deep understanding of the cultural nuances vital to effective Latinx Therapy. My education at UIC Jane Addams College of Social Work further enriched my skills, equipping me to offer empathetic, holistic therapy. I work with individuals of diverse backgrounds, including various ethnicities, ages, and members of the LGBTQ+ community, those with disabilities or mental health challenges.
