About

Welcome! My name is Marisa Mastrianno and I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Connecticut. I have been working in the mental health field for the past 6 years in numerous settings including residential programs, outpatient facilities, private practice and private boarding schools. I specialize in working with depression/anxiety, relational issues, personality disorders, trauma and the stress of everyday life.

My counseling style is kind and gentle, I meet each client where they are emotionally, and want them to feel safe and comfortable sharing their story with me. Throughout my years in the mental health field I have seen the positive impact an authentic relationship can have in treatment. I believe the first step of therapy is to build a positive therapeutic relationship with my clients.

I use various approaches when working with clients, depending on their individual needs. My approaches include client centered, cognitive behavioral therapy, Dialectical behavioral therapy, psychodynamic and motivational interviewing.

Vulnerability is not a sign of weakness, but rather a reflection of our strength. It takes courage to ask for help. I will do my best to help you achieve your goals, build your strengths, and create the life you want and deserve!

I look forward to working with you!
