As a bicultural therapist with over 12 years of experience in the field of mental health, I have worked with several diverse communities and issues including: grief, family conflict, trauma, mild to severe mental health symptoms, parenting, immigration, phase of life changes, pregnancy and postpartum, anger management, dual diagnosis and everyday life stressors. As your therapist, my goal is to assist you in developing coping skills and self awareness, while honoring you as a person and your journey during this time. Additionally, I’m committed to helping my clients identify the underlying cause and meaning of their symptoms, as they experience them and how it affects them in their daily functioning. My therapeutic approach is one that is collaborative with the client. I specialize in working with young adults, adults and new parents. I utilize different treatment modalities that include solution focused therapy, cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), mindfulness and motivational interviewing. I believe that no one is defined by their mental health symptoms or by the painful situations or experiences they have lived or are currently experiencing. Rather, I believe individuals are defined by their resilience, their work, and their hopes of something better. True strength comes from the ability to look inward, to recognize, and accept help when navigating through the many challenges of life.
