I am a Marriage and Family Therapist who has been licensed in the State of California for 8 years. I have extensive experience working with issues of domestic violence, substance abuse, and child abuse and neglect as a social worker. My education at Pacifica Graduate Institute provided an emphasis on psychodynamic therapy along with focus on various other orientations such as Client Centered, Solution Focused, Cognitive Behavioral, and Existential therapies. I avoid making judgement and tend to meet the client where they stand, while being sensitive to their cultural background, ethnicity, and gender orientation.
I have been trained in EMDR therapy, which is an effective method to deal with past trauma.
I view the therapeutic process as helpful to one's personal growth and adaptation to many of life's challenges and adversities. As such, it should never be stigmatizing or inhibit one's personal journey.
