Hi there and welcome to the first step in making positive changes in your life. My name is Maria, and I am a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) and I am licensed in Illinois. I have been in a private practice setting since 2015 when I graduated from National Louis University with a masters degree in counseling. I have recently completed the requirements to become a certified trauma treatment practitioner (CTTP) and looking forward to helping clients who have experienced trauma using new in-depth tools to help them through any difficulties they may have.

I truly enjoy working with people and I am dedicated to providing high quality psychological care to my clients and their families. My primary orientations are both person-centered and Adlerian theories, meaning creating safety for my clients while building a relationship; and Adlerian theory is described as a holistic approach, focusing on an individual's whole environment and the effects of each part on their life. I believe in working with clients holistically, each part of your body and mind effects the others. Eating right, exercise, family life, work/life balance, relaxation and self-care. I work with all clients collaboratively to help people achieve their goals and find their place in the world.

I love working with people of all ages and backgrounds. I feel that I have a calling to help people and families who are going through a difficult time find peace in their lives through communication, love and understanding.
