**We do not accept insurance. Maria appreciates the privilege of guiding individuals on their journey of self-expression, self-discovery, and healing. She has nearly six years of professional experience in psychiatric inpatient and social service settings, working with a vast range of diagnoses, cultures, ages, and gender identities. She enjoys working most with adolescents and adults — both individually and in groups — who struggle with issues such as identity formation, behavior and attention challenges, depression, anxiety, breaks in reality, self-esteem, and existential crises. With an integrative approach to trauma-informed care, she incorporates Art Therapy, concepts of Mindfulness, and techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) in sessions. She collaborates with clients, offering traditional verbal psychotherapy in combination with the creative process, to explore and work through whatever struggles they face. Maria provides a non-judgmental space for exploration while teaching new skills to help clients live more authentically. She believes that everyone is an artist in the truest sense of the word. Maria received her MA in Art Therapy from New York University’s Steinhardt School of Human Development, and her BA in Art History and Philosophy from DePaul University in Chicago.
