About

Hello,
I am glad your search led you to my page. We all need help or guidance at times, and I will be honored to be the person to support you through any issues or challenges you might be facing.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the states of Arizona, Florida, New Mexico, and Texas and have been working in the mental health field since 2000. I have professional experience in both, inpatient and outpatient settings, and throughout the years have worked with a variety of clients and problems. Some examples of issues I help with include depression, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, grief/loss, codependency, adjusting to major life changes, living with a chronic illness…among others. I have worked with clients of all ages and special populations such as military, geriatric, and pregnant women/new mothers. I am bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish.

You are probably wondering what to expect from our therapeutic relationship, so I’d like to take a moment to give you a basic idea. I use a patient-centered approach with my clients, meaning that I respect and take into consideration their preferences, beliefs, and values when designing treatment plans and goals. For me to know and understand what those are, I do ask a lot of questions, especially at the beginning of our therapeutic relationship. Based on what I learn about my client’s unique needs and perspectives, I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches that fit the situation. Some examples include cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, dialectical behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, solution-focused therapy, and narrative therapy.

I meet clients where they are at, and together as a team, we develop goals, track progress, overcome challenges, and celebrate successes. As we work through the issues in therapy, we might engage in deep, reflective discussions at times. Sessions might also involve some form of “homework assignment” where the clients get to practice or develop new coping skills outside of therapy, or sometimes gain new insight into their problems, and then have the opportunity to discuss outcomes and provide feedback on the next session. I am looking forward to discussing more with you and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
