Hi there, I'm Maria! I am Maria Montano, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California with 20 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, relationship issues, trauma and abuse, & motivation, self-esteem, and confidence. I believe that you are the expert on your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey. My approach I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Motivational Interviewing to help guide clients to making positive changes in their lives. My focus I have worked with children, adults, couples, and families. I have experience in treating Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Relationship issues, Trauma and Abuse, Self-esteem, Communication Problems, Forgiveness, Guilt and Shame, Isolation / Loneliness, Life Purpose, Self-Love, Social Anxiety and Phobia. My communication style I provide an open, calm environment in which clients can discuss their struggles, symptoms, and strengths. We can work together to identify goals and how to best achieve them. I provide skills and strategies to manage symptoms and make progress toward becoming a healthier and more stable person.
