About
Hello, welcome! I am a bilingual therapist licensed in MI and AZ with 12 years of professional experience. I have worked in the US and two other countries as a teacher and therapist/counselor in the school setting, non-profit organizations, and community mental health centers. I have also worked at a couple of the shelters from the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), which is a program created by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) that serves children and families displaced by violence and/or poverty.
I have a vocation for service and find joy empowering others. My clients have had a wide range of mental health issues including but not limited to: trauma, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, abuse, neglect, grief and loss. I have also taught DBT (i.e. Dialectical Behavior Therapy) skill classes where clients learn about Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance, and Interpersonal Effectiveness; I have witnessed consistently how people improve their relationships and self-control by learning these skills. This therapeutic approach has proven to be one of the most effective for people who have suicidal thoughts, and for those who did not get their emotional needs met by their caregivers when they were children.
Given the fact that about 85% of people’s communication is non-verbal, our sessions must be via video. I will only offer phone calls once we have established a solid therapeutic process, and I have properly assessed you.
I strive to create an open, safe, and non-judgmental space where you can express freely your thoughts and feelings. I mainly use a Person-Centered approach incorporating DBT, REBT, CBT, Gestalt, and Mindfulness-based stress reduction. Our sessions are confidential.
Thank you for taking the courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life. As long as there is willingness and commitment on your part, I am confident that you will see changes over time. I’m honored to be a part of your healing journey.
