Hello, I am Margaret Wilson. I live in South Carolina and am a true southern girl. I am a Professional Licensed Counselor and an Addiction Counselor. I have lots of life experience. I am a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Masters plus thirty. My degree is Educational Specialist and Counselor Education. I was a class room teacher, then a Guidance Counselor, and now a sole proprietor independent counselor. I have been working as a counselor for 10 or more years. I enjoy working with young adults, couples in relationships, and individual adults. I have worked and received extended training in Anxiety, Depression, Grief, Trauma and Relationship Issues that includes communication, financial issues, infidelity, blended family, and commitment problems.
My counseling style and approach is Holistic. I use a variety of techniques that is determined by the need and situation of the client. I am trained in DBT, CBT, Rational/Emotional Therapy, and EDMR for trauma, and the Gottman approach for relationships. I have taken extra courses in Anger Management focusing on Domestic Violence and Substance Education.
I am very personable in my approach and have been told that I am easy to talk to about any issue. I try to create a friendly, compassionate and therapeutic environment.
