Hello! My name is Margaret (Peggy) McKinley and I've been providing therapy services for over 22 years! I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the beautiful state of Vermont. I have a Bachelors's degree in Education and a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology. I have worked in community mental health and in private practice. I am also a certified Life Coach with the World Coach Institute. The most common compliments I've received from my clients are that I am easy to talk to, non-judgemental, caring, and down to earth. While I tend to lean towards a solution-focused, client-centered, strength-based approach, I also believe strongly in the power of cognitive-behavioral change, positive habit formation, and adventure therapy. For years I led adventure therapy-based groups for young women aimed at reducing depression and anxiety and improving self-esteem and self-advocacy. While I am experienced in many areas of treatment I believe my strengths lie in treating depression, anxiety, life cycle issues, communication issues, and goal achievement. I am also a trained mindfulness instructor and I believe in the power of mindfulness for improving mental health and quality of life. I'd welcome the opportunity to work with you! Let's talk!
