About

My name is Margaret "Meg" Stueart and I am licensed in the State of Arkansas as a Professional Counselor. I have worked with children, teens, and adults who are having problems in different areas of their lives. I have a lot of experience with people in addiction, people with major depression, and those going through a divorce, just to name a few. I will gladly try to work with anyone and if we are not a good fit, no hard feelings. But if we are a good fit, let's see if we can make life better for you together! My approach The therapy approach that I use the most is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, but I enjoy Reality Therapy, Adlerian Therapy, Christian Counseling, and Family Systems therapy. My focus I am most comfortable working with individuals, men, women, or children from age 8 up and I do enjoy working with older adults at the same time. Every person is unique and has their own goals and objectives. However, the majority of people I work with face to face are women or by telehealth are women. My communication style Being comfortable and in a non-judgemental setting is the most important thing for me to try to present. If you have anxiety, I will try not to stress you out. If you are having a mood problem, I would hope to help you feel better. I like to listen to my clients and then ask them what they would expect or like to change in their lives. My journey to mental healthcare I was born into a family of addiction with my mother and grandmother both addicted to pain medications that ruined both of their lives. I married a man who was an alcoholic and I did not know that for 10 years into the marriage with many relationship problems, he finally went to Alcoholics Anonymous and 18 months later, I went to the Al-Anon Family Groups and worked the 12 Steps and it changed my life. In that program, I found that I enjoyed trying to help others, not fix them, but just listening and trying to help them.
