Hello, Welcome to Find A Therapist. My name is Marcus Riggs and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia. I have approximately 4 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families. The areas that I have worked with are trauma, anxiety, depression, individual problems, relationship issues, marital problems, parenting difficulties, and family relational problems. My counseling is very interactive and empathetic in nature. I believe that the foundation of counseling is mutual respect, being sensitive to difficulties, and compassionate in nature as we attempt to work through any difficult area of life. The modalities that I use in counseling sessions are Solution-Focus Brief Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Gestalt Therapy with a Systems mind-set. My desire is to work with clients in developing a treatment plan to address current needs and to bring a sense of healing and balance to life.
