All of us experience adversity: difficulties in our relationships or careers; feeling unworthy of love and belonging, shamed into hiding who we are or how we truly feel; periods of unbearable depression and loneliness; worry that anxiety is taking over our lives; heart-rending grief when we experience loss; crises of purpose or identity. If life has taught me anything, it’s that we don’t need to struggle alone. Therapy can help us shift perspective and discover fresh ways of looking at ourselves, our emotions, and our problems. Therapy also offers us concrete step-by-step strategies for working on ourselves and our relationships. Yet every healing journey is unique, requiring a carefully tailored approach. In my work with individuals, I integrate behavioral, mindful, and psychodynamic techniques. Working with couples, I find Gottman Method Couples Therapy extremely effective.
