Being in a rural community creates many barriers to receiving mental health services. Many times there is a lack of access to services because of location, transportation and time. There are fewer qualified therapists available in small communities. Due to the unique culture of small towns, the stigma of receiving mental health services can be more prominent. Online mental health services could help reach individuals that may not have been able to take part in traditional one-on-one counseling services.

Hi! My name is Mande Voss. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I have four years of counseling experience, but I have been working in the mental health field for over five years. I worked in a community health care setting in Oklahoma before moving to Texas. I have worked with a variety of individuals, some with professional careers and families and others that are struggling with homelessness. I have worked with children, teens and adults who are struggling with a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, aggressive behaviors and substance abuse.
I believe that one of the most important aspects of counseling, is having a trusting and caring relationship. I have a lot of experience with cognitive behavioral therapy, and find that it is very helpful in learning new ways to cope with daily challenges. I am flexible in my approach and believe that we are all unique and therefore counseling should be personalized to meet individual needs.
