Hi, I'm Melanie! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia who has primarily worked with children and adolescents who have experienced trauma, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, ADHD, and substance abuse issues. I am also a school social worker in Virginia and a parent to two young children. I have training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I utilize a strengths based perspective and client centered approach, CBT techniques, and a neurobiological perspective. I am currently in a Doctorate of Social Work program focused on trauma and use knowledge about current evidence informed practice interventions in my work. I focus on connecting with my clients through their interests and using a solution focused approach. I want therapy to be a safe space for my clients and a warm, welcoming environment for all.
