Hi there, I'm Maitri! My name is Maitri Joy and I am a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Santa Rosa, California, working with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with adults specializing in Trauma, Anxiety, and Addictions. As a transpersonal psychotherapist, I integrate Asian spirituality (Buddhist, and Hindu meditation practices) with cutting-edge psychotherapy modalities to offer you a way to make progress in feeling better fast. My approach My approach to therapy varies based on the needs of each client. Through Transpersonal Psychotherapy, I help you chart a clear path forward, developing tangible skills in emotional healing, inner compassion, self-confidence, and personal/spiritual understanding. My focus I have found that my style and approach are a good fit for adults who may be dealing with trauma, anxiety, and addictions of all kinds. I help my clients navigate these difficult periods by empathically listening, teaching, and modeling skills that aid them in developing an understanding of themselves; offering deep emotional, mental, and spiritual healing and growth. My communication style My communication style is empathic, accommodating, and personable. I want my clients to feel comfortable talking with me about anything. My focus is to actively listen without judgment; helping to uncover my client's deep emotions, needs, and desires. My journey to therapy For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to help others. As a teenager, I spent much of my time helping the environment, but then when I was in college I found psychology, which changed the course of my life forever. At the time I was already a long-time Buddhist meditator and realized that psychology was the missing link in being able to help others from an authentic and personal place. Now I still spend time volunteering for the environment, as well as supporting my clients helping them become the best versions of themselves.
