About

Hello, I am Lynda Feldt a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) in the state of Texas. I am also a National Certified Counselor. I worked for over 20 years in the public education setting serving a diverse population of people with special needs. My passion for helping lead me to pursue a second career in counseling to help people in a different capacity. I enrolled in the counseling program at the University of Houston Victoria and graduated with a master’s degree in 2016. My experience includes community mental health, guidance counseling, and addiction counseling.

My therapeutic approach is solution-focused, which enables you to identify your strengths and help you move toward your ideal life. I have experience in integrating approaches such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to address your individual needs. These approaches help you change thinking and behavior that do not produce positive experiences in your life. I also utilize skills from mindfulness-based self-compassion, meditation, and somatic interventions.

If you are struggling with an addiction or a behavior that does not support your desired life, I have over 25 years of experience with 12-step recovery. I can help you better understand the 12-step approach to overcoming addiction and undesired behavior. I am also familiar with alternatives to 12-step recovery and can help you explore those if 12-step recovery does not fit you.

The therapeutic relationship is very important. You need a place where you can be vulnerable without judgment. I strive to provide that safe place with a person-centered and trauma-informed approach that allows you to have empowered choices. I have a deep understanding of cultural diversity based on travels around the world, as well as my personal and professional experiences. I am able to meet you where you are and support you on the journey to a better life.
