I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I received a Master’s degree from Barry University with specializations in Mental Health Counseling, and Marriage, Couples and Family Counseling and Therapy. My experience includes a wide range of issues from assisting individuals with general life transitions, coping with life's stressors, mood disorders, anxiety issues, psychotic disorders, and personality disorders. I have had the pleasure of working with individuals who have also taught me great lessons in therapy sessions as I will always be a student of life. I believe that therapy is a great tool to exploring growth. Discovering and defining what it would take to move towards progress in any area of life can be a serious challenge. I understand the fear and complexity of taking a stand for yourself. It takes courage to move forward sometimes, and I am ready to assist you through that journey. I applaud you!

I utilize an eclectic approach to therapy which includes cognitive behavioral therapy to increase one's insight into thought processes and how those thoughts effect actions. Motivational interviewing is an important strategy to foster inspiration towards personal growth and development. Gestalt therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and other therapeutic frameworks can be employed to establish meaningful gains. I enjoy providing psychoeducation to increase insight; bibliotherapy, art, and music techniques. Role play scenarios and behavioral rehearsals may be effective tools to incorporate in the therapy practice. Although this information may seem overwhelming, be assured that the techniques employed will be uniquely applied for your specialized needs.

As a wife, mother, and professional, I have had the experience of juggling life's challenges. As a woman, I empathize with the needs of women. I have a passion for assisting women through their phases of life which poses many challenges. As a person who struggled through her teenage years, I truly understand the impact of support from empathetic people whose mission is to help you to reach your desired goals.
