Hello, I’m Louise Long, and I’m here to help no matter what you are going through.

As a therapist, I have more than 25 years of experience, and have worked with clients with many, many different problems. I believe that respect and building and maintaining trust are very important in therapy. My counseling style is empathic and solution-focused, and I believe strongly that you are a unique individual, and your treatment should be just as unique and driven by you. I know how to listen, and I'm confident that if we both put in the time and effort, you can and will make progress.

I am a Marriage and Family Therapist, licensed in New Mexico. I have a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. I worked in California for several years, and then returned to my home state of New Mexico. I had a private practice for several years, as well as worked for many in community mental health services as a therapist and a clinical supervisor and clinical director training other therapists.

Don't let the title Marriage and Family Therapist fool you. I am able to work with any population, including adults, children, adolescents, and the elderly. However, I now choose to work only with adults.

Previously I specialized in trauma and addictions, but now rarely work with addictions. My main focus is now with trauma and anxiety disorders and various other issues. See below for a list of some of these. Please be aware that this is not a complete list.

I am not just a therapist -- I am also a mother and grandmother, with a passion for travel.

PLEASE NOTE: Currently I only use telephone for counseling sessions. Video has been difficult because of its unpredictability while traveling.
