About

Hi, and welcome to my bio! I have been a licensed therapist since 2014 and have a history of providing therapeutic support to varying demographics due to being a part of the military community. However, I currently specialize in women ages 18 and up due to the unique stresses, culture, and expectations we as women face. A second reason I enjoy working with adult women is because we can all use more self-confidence, assertiveness, and emotional strength to live the lives we want. If you choose to work with me, I find it helpful to learn more about your past to better understand the woman you are in the present. We will discuss what messaging you may have been taught to believe throughout your life, either directly or indirectly, and how it may be impacting you present day. A few common examples are I must be perfect, I must people please to keep the peace, I am responsible for the emotions of others, I am not good enough, and I am unlovable. These unhealthy messages bring with them unrealistic expectations and unhealthy patterns that we often are not even aware of until we start digging in. This creates depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, anger, helplessness, and many other painful symptoms into your present-day functioning. I am here to help you challenge the old messages that no longer serve you and find new, healthier ways to function; ones that will foster self-confidence, happiness and healing. Some of our sessions will include inner child work and awareness, depending on your past and comfortability with this approach. This can be very powerful and emotional, but also very healing and validating. With that being said, first and foremost our time together will be structured around the goals and needs you are wanting during our time together. I will not force an approach on you if you are not ready or comfortable with it. We will go at your pace and work using techniques you feel are right for you. I am very collaborative in my approach and consider our time together as an interactive team effort. A little about me: I currently live in the mountains with my husband of 27 years and enjoy the peacefulness that comes with it. I love interacting with nature through camping, hiking, walking, and spending time on the lake. I work part-time, dabble in reading and writing and enjoy a healthy work-life balance. Best to you on your journey and I look forward to working with you, if you feel I am a good fit for you.
