She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and worked in various roles in higher education before going on to obtain her master’s degree in clinical social work from the University of Houston. Lorena was drawn to the mental health field by a desire to improve access to high-quality care, particularly among largely underserved BIPOC communities, and currently sees patients via telehealth. Outside of work she enjoys biking, traveling and dancing.
