My career in counseling began in 1991 in Palm Beach County, Florida jails working to help men and women suffering from addiction issues. Since then I have experienced the stories of many in a variety of settings, including, women and children in shelters and treatment, adolescents in juvenile homes, children in foster care, adult developmentally disabled in group homes, and adults in treatment centers for addiction and alcoholism. The last four years I have worked in private practice providing therapy to individuals struggling with Substance Use Disorders, Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Bi-Polar I & II, Eating Disorders, and various Personality Disorders. In helping others, I have come to know my own strengths. I am empathic, I instill hope, and I am nonjudgmental. Most of all, I believe in the ability to heal. I have developed skills in several disciplines. I utilize an eclectic evidence-based approach to therapy, incorporating tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Humanistic Psychology, Existential Therapy, Spirituality, Mindfulness, and Dialectical behavior therapy. I respect each person as a unique individual, who is capable, has strengths, has a purpose, and desires a joyous life.

On a personal note, I love spending time with my family, two dogs, and friends. I hike, read, bike, practice yoga, and meditation, and paint with acrylics and oils.
